I went for a drive back to the area we moved from four years ago. At the time, I was over it — ready for something new. I guess I get a five-year itch… can you relate?
But that place was where my business grew and where we started our family.
It holds more meaning than I ever realized.
Now, seeing it in autumn feels different.
The wide-open farm fields and forests — painted in gold and rust — bring a quiet calm I didn’t know I needed.
It reminds me of where I’m at in my weaving right now.
Back to the basics.
Back to the simple overs and unders of tabby.
Back to the meditative rhythm that first made me fall in love with weaving.
Each morning, after the kids head off to school, I sit at my loom — guided by intuition and colour, not technique.
It’s become my ritual. My grounding.
If you don’t already have something like this in your life, I hope you find it — that thing that brings you peace.
This slow practice has inspired me to create a new small batch of fibre packs — something I haven’t done in over a year.
Each wall hanging is unique. Hung on a wooden dowel.
Measuring 9”W x 15”L from dowel to bottom of the pink yarn. Hanger to dowel is 7”.
